Clinical Supervision

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board Approved Clinical Supervisor for Certified Social Workers in the state of Kentucky, I am able to provide both individual and group supervision for clinicians that are currently pursuing independent licensure. I have 10+ years of experience working with children, adolescents, teens, adults and families and have extensive training in working with high risk populations.

My approach to supervision is very similar to my approach to therapy.  I strive to create a safe and supportive environment for my supervisees by building a collaborative working relationship where CSWs can explore their curiosities about the therapeutic process and the clients they are serving.  I incorporate a variety of therapy models into my work and aim to empower CSWs to develop their own therapeutic personality. I also challenge my supervisees to consider the client within their environment and ethically challenge the systems in place that may be working against them.

Throughout supervision, areas of focus for clinical growth may include any of the following:

  • Case conceptualization and consultation
  • Review of the NASW Code of Ethics / navigating ethical dilemmas
  • Review of diagnoses / diagnostic criteria in the DSM
  • Assessment & intervention with clients / client systems
  • Review of / skill building regarding documentation (i.e. assessment, treatment plans, psychotherapy notes, etc.)
  • Building confidence in utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities in treatment
  • Exploring use of self as an intervention / therapeutic tool

I am currently accepting new supervisees as either the supervisor of record or an additional supervisor. At this time I am not offering group supervision, however this may change in the future if there is enough interest.
