Individual therapy is a confidential space with just you and your therapist to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. In individual work, my role as your therapist is to listen and attune to your emotional experiences, help you identify challenges or areas of your life that aren’t serving you and walk along the path towards a more authentic, fulfilling and meaningful life.
Since you are the expert of your own life and self, individual therapy with me is a collaborative process tailored to your unique needs. This might include building your capacity to safely experience and regulate your emotions, deepening your insight into how your past experiences influence you today, increasing your skills to communicate and honor your needs and boundaries, or working towards a more genuine acceptance of yourself.
Whether you’re navigating a specific challenge or seeking personal growth and understanding, therapy can provide clarity, tools, and a sense of empowerment along the way.
Family therapy is a space for family systems (parents/guardians, children, siblings, and/or other family members who play a significant role within the family dynamic) to work together with their therapist to build a sense of understanding, connection and trust. In family work, my role as your therapist is to work with members of the family to undercover current patterns that exist and build skills for stronger communication, attunement and problem-solving within the system.
Similar to my approach with individual therapy, in family therapy I believe in a collaborative approach and recognize that each family system is unique. I operate from a systems and attachment-based perspective, allowing for exploration into how each individual relationship with in the system, as well as the family unit as a whole, plays a role in the patterns and overall emotional health of the family.
Together, we can look at how generational patterns, past experiences, communication differences and/or differing needs or expectations impact the family dynamic. Whether you are experiencing a recent family stressor or major life transition, or are wanting support navigating tension that has been present for a while, we will work together so that each family member feels heard, understood, and supported.
